Seva: Be a Volunteer
Seva, or selfless service, is a wonderful way to support the community. When we give freely of ourselves, we reap many rewards.
You can help by volunteering to shoulder some of the work as a service to our community. Becoming more involved may give you more time to spend in the temple on days that public worship isn’t scheduled, will give you a chance to spend time with our temple founder and learn about our worship first hand, and will cultivate humility, bringing you closer to the Divine Mother, as we perform all work in service to Her and Her devotees.
At this time, our temple has the following weekly and monthly volunteer needs (some will require training and/or prior experience):
Temple Cleaning & Maintenance
- Cleaning and maintenance of altars
- Cleaning floors
- Polish puja utensils (brass, copper)
- Cleaning and preparation of ritual items for public worship (flowers, lamps, etc.)

- Cleaning of kitchen, including all dishes and cooking utensils, after puja and classes
- Cooking of traditional Assamese, Bengali and/or other North or South Indian vegetarian dishes for Maa’s bhoga
- Serving food to devotees after worship
