Sponsor Worship
The tradition of offering a donation to the temple for the puja brings the energy and blessings of the puja directly to you and your family. If you are unable to join us for worship, but would like to sponsor some aspect of the worship, we happily invite you to send your sponsorship online, and regardless of the amount, we will include your name in our daily puja.
In various religions, including Hinduism, it is customary to donate ten percent of one’s income to the temple, so that it can continue serving you and others. This is considered God’s money, and anything beyond that is a gift. If you would like to donate a specific amount every month, you can contact us and we will help make those arrangements.
Sponsor Daily Worship
When sponsoring daily worship, include your full name and the name of any family members to be included, your gotra and nakshatra (if known), date, place and time of birth (if known), and current location.
Sponsor sindoor (vermillion or kumkum powder): $5
Sponsor flowers for one day: $15
Sponsor abhishekam (ritual bath): $25
Sponsor MAA’s bhog (food & sweets): $30
Sponsor flowers for one week: $101
Sponsor daily worship for one week: $201 or more
Or, you can become a sustaining donor, and make a monthly gift which will be deducted automatically from your credit card or checking account (via check card). Contact us for details.
Puja sponsors of $101 or more (one time or per month) will receive:
- flowers
- tilak (sindoor taken from MAA’s yoni pitham)
- rakta bastra (holy cloth of MAA KAMAKHYA, the most holy, powerful, and sought-after prasad from Ambubachi festival of MAA’s menstruation, while supplies last)
All Sustaining Donors will receive a large piece of rakta bastra by US mail each year that they are donors, to distribute to family and friends, along with flowers and sindoor from the Ambubaci puja.
All will be sent by US mail. Be sure to include your mailing address.
Puja/Homa for Personal Spiritual Benefit
You may request a special puja and homa performed for you and your family, which has variable cost according to the procedures performed and materials required, and will be scheduled according to the most auspicious day. Contact us for details.
PLEASE NOTE: Donors making gifts for performance of a special puja and/or homa for personal spiritual benefit will receive prasad from the puja and/or homa that they have sponsored for themselves, rather than monthly prasad from general puja.
